What We Believe

We believe that eternal relationship with God comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone.

We believe that the essence of the Church is people in relationship with Jesus Christ and each other.

We serve a living God that encounters us, speaks, heals, directs.  We expect to meet with Him and hear from Him as we gather.

God deserves our Worship… every day, in all we do.  As we gather on Sundays we invite people (of all ages) to participate in giving God honor through music, dance, art, prayer, scripture... responding to His presence and what He calls us to. We believe that the creativity which God has given us is to be used in our worship.

We are to be Jesus followers every day, in all that we do.  Jesus came not only to bring salvation but to show us how to live.

We need to study scripture to know how to do this – individually, in small groups and as we gather all together on Sundays.  We look to the Bible as God’s Word and our authority on how we’re to live.

We are family.  We encourage people to get to know each other and love, help and care for one another.  We want people of all ages and backgrounds to see themselves as an important part of the family.

Jesus was concerned with the real needs of people – bringing peace, justice, and meeting physical needs.  We aim to do that through our involvement in our community and overseas.  We operate a food bank and shelter out of Gateway.

We believe there is one church in Halifax made up of various congregations called to particular purposes.  We attempt to foster good relationships and working together with other local congregations.  We help facilitate Love Sackville, city wide gatherings, pastor’s prayer summits.
